How Derren Brown Beat Roulette

Derren Brown, one of the worlds top magicians has had a lot of success with his Mind Control TV series where he showed how to count cards in blackjack and how to beat the roulette wheel. Derren Brown is based in the UK but he feats are known around the globe and so he has been banned now from all big land based casinos.

In his final show he promised to reveal his secrets on how to beat the casino. Was it real or just a scam? Do the actual casino systems follow similar scams or can you actually beat the casino? These are questions I will try my best to answer.

All casino games have a house edge, meaning the casino will always win in the long run. Roulette has one of the smaller house edges, which is at 2.7% on a single-zero European table. But this house edge can be changed more in your favor by making making adjustments to the odds. European roulette tables offer much better odds of winning roulette than the American version. Derren Brown showed us this in his card-counting strategy for blackjack. Good roulette systems work in the same way, but most of them are leveraged double-up strategies (when you lose you double your next bet to cover your loss) that don’t work in the long run. Math based systems such as the Mayer Roulette System, also alter the odds in tiny ways but in the long run you will build up a big bankroll so that you can place big bets.

So how did Derren Brown’s roulette beating system work? He used a speed measurement device that predicted the angle of decent of the ball on the roulette wheel and the speed of which it hit it. This system didn’t work on his TV show and this system is also banned in all casinos. He did show a great strategy to beat the casinos, and it is a mathematical strategy that can only bring down the house edge. If you missed it then get a copy of it. You do need to be be great at math to use this roulette system.
